Tea Board of India Goes Social

With the Tea Board of India’s only virtual presence through its website, the board, has decided to connect through the social media like Facebook, Twitter, blogs and other social medium to tap the global market of tea drinkers which has a larger concentration on such social sites.

The aim is to leverage the Indian Tea on the global market and to reach out to the tea drinkers by creating a mindset for drinking teas of India.

At present the UK Tea Council in London, the US Tea Association, the Tea Board of Kenya and even the Vietnam Tea Association, each have their profiles on these social media to tap the tea market.

In terms of exports India ranks fourth behind China, Sri Lanka, and Kenya.

It’s better late than never, the Tea Board of India will definitely see improvements in terms of tea consumption after the project is initiated fully.

The countries the Tea Board of India are focusing are: United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Similar initiative for individual teas of India, namely, Assam Tea, Darjeeling Tea, & Nilgiri Tea, is needed to promote their individual teas with unique characteristics, to be more effective in terms of brand projection and reach.

Darjeeling Tea Boutique wishes the very best for the initiative.
