History of Singbulli Tea Estate
The British planters around the year 1924 established Singbulli Tea Estate. It was acquired by Jayshree Tea & Industries Limited, a B.K. Birla Group of Companies in the year 2003 and is still wonderfully managed by the same group now.
Location of Singbulli Tea Estate:
Singbulli tea estate is located in Mirik town at a distance of about 38-40 kilometers from Darjeeling and 45 kilometers from Siliguri. Sourenee Tea Estate is located in north west part of this tea garden and is hemmed by Gayabaree (Millikthong) Tea Estate for most of the southern part. The nearest airport from this Darjeeling tea estate is Bagdogra, which is at a distance of 50 kilometers.
The garden lies at an altitude of between 400meters to 1350 meters and is spread across nine hills. The area of under cultivation is about 474 Hectares.
Singbulli tea estate is divided into four divisions.

Singbulli Tea Estate has been certified as DUTCH HACCP and is also certified by IMO as 100 per cent Organic. This Darjeeling tea garden awaits the certification of “Fairtrade”, which would be available shortly as given the high level of work culture and practices and privileges offered to the people involved in the garden.
