Garden: Margaret’s Hope Tea Estate, one of the early tea gardens of Darjeeling dating back to 1930s  and once onwed by Mr Bagdon from England. It is located in the valley of the hills of Kurseong, in Darjeeling subdivision.

Description: This is an exotic high elevation early tea leaves of this 2015 spring season from Margaret’s Hope Tea Estate made purely from AV2 cultivars. Vey floral and fruit like aromas are sure to stun any darjeeling tea lovers who are used to savouring Darjeeling first flush teas. It is surely of the best to arrive from the Darjeeling hills. The leaves are made from only the two leaves and a bud. The buds are in full bloom with fine silvery sheen prominently covering the tips and the leaves. A good proportion of fresh musk with hints of delicate floral aromas make this tea a perfect one as a morning tea.

Liquor: A faint light yellowish-green liquor brimming with brightness and promises of freshness and floral delight was got from a full 5 minutes of steeping at 90ºC (194ºF). A second infusion was got from a 5 minute steeping time at the same temperature.

Steeping Advised: A 2.5gm to 3gm of tea leaves for a cup of 200ml water is advised which is brought to a temperature of around 90ºC (194ºF) and steeped for 5 minutes.
